The night was such a success. Let me begin with saying that we were completely sold out, which was so unexpectedly awesome. When the time came to start, we were put on hold because not everyone was seated yet, therefore, we started a few minutes late. The play, from the start, seemed to be such a hit with people laughing at almost all the jokes. My part is in about 40 minutes into the show, so you can imagine all the excitement I had built up. Right before going on the stage, everybody wished me to break my leg (really?) I love this saying, it totally has a creepy sound, but I guess that is what Americans use. Before my part, I was standing there behind the door, and all of a sudden, I realize that I will go on in like two minutes and it hit me. I got so nervous but super excited to go on stage. I think partly because it has been so long since I have actually performed on the stage in front of almost 100 people, and partly because I had my family, boyfriend (who never seen me on stage before), friends, co-workers and neighbors there. I didn’t need to use all that blush, because I am pretty sure my cheeks were on fire as it is. There I am standing and out of nowhere I realize that my mouth is totally dry and there is no water near. No fear, I didn’t let it bother me. I came out and did the best I could. No mess up or anything. I was very satisfied with my own performance and that doesn’t happen very often. I guess, subconsciously, I knew I had to make the best out of it, and I did. On the stage, the lights are so bright that you can barely see the audience, and that’s good, cause I bet if I would have seen all my peoples, it would have been so hard to keep the straight face on.
The whole night was a one of a kind experience. I am so grateful that people I love came out and supported me. I didn’t even expect such a big fan base. What a pleasant surprise. Its funny how I think that I don’t really know very many people or have a lot of friends, but when it comes down to a really important event in my life, I realize that I am not alone and I do have more people care than I thought I would. Really amazing!
After the show, we had a little celebratory party with champagne. Then me, Chad and some of my friends went out to the bar to celebrate. At the Grumpy Troll, where we went, we played the skee ball game, and even though, Chad blogs about winning, let me tell you that was not always the case!! I scored some very nice points, especially for the beginner.
A remarkable and definitely unforgettable night!
